August Runggaldier

over 100 years of wood carving traditions

La Zipla stands for extensive experience in a traditional family business combined with innovative desing and vitality.

Already in 1895 August Runggaldier Senior was operating in its laboratory testifying about the long family wood carving tradition.

From 1922 till 1933 August Runggaldier was professor at the Art Academy in Pinerolo (Torino). After his return to Val Gardena he founded his own renowned laboratory and run it together with his son Franz Runggaldier. Franz Runggaldier kept the name August Runggaldier as his stage name.

In the 1970ies, the laboratory was turned into an art shop.

Since 2011, Franz’s granddaughter Silvia Runggaldier runs the shop with her husband Emanuel Nogler, as well a skilled wood carver formed by his own father an known sculptor Othmar Nogler.
